I have Lyra, why do you need my insurance information?

If you are certain your Lyra benefits are NOT integrated with your medical health insurance plan, then I do not need your insurance information. DO include Lyra, your employer name, and sign the release (last two pages) if Lyra will be paying for your treatment. If applicable, be sure to include the code Lyra provided you.

Using Lyra, why is a credit card needed on file?

There are three instances in which most insurances and employee assistance programs do not pay for a session, when I began working with Lyra most companies operate the same way. The 3 times you may be responsible for the fee of $50 is if you no show, arrive later than 15 minutes after the top of the hour, or cancel with less than 24 hours notice without extenuating circumstances. However, some Lyra benefits may cover instances of this for your convenience and simply count it as one of your sessions. It is our policy to keep a card on file just in case. Please contact your Lyra representative for more information regarding your benefits.

What’s Ivy?

Ivy is an app not a person. My therapy practice utilizes Ivy Pay for accepting payment. Ivy Pay is a card payment system designed specifically for psychotherapists and their clients.

Ivy Pay works with your debit card, credit card, HSA or FSA card. It is HIPAA-secure and it keeps our therapeutic relationship confidential.

Following completion of the new client forms, I will send you an invitation text via Ivy Pay’s system with a charge for $1. The text you receive will come from a phone number in Ivy Pay’s system (not me) and will be worded similarly to the following: “Ivy: You’ve been invited to use Ivy. To accept and pay for sessions with a card on file, go to [link].”

I ask that you use that link to set yourself up in the system at your convenience. It is quick, easy, and very secure. Completing this step is what locks your appointment in.

You can tap on the link in your invite text to be taken to the secure ‘Add Card’ form.  Scroll down on the ‘Add Card’ form, add your card details, and tap ‘Save & Pay.’ Your card will be encrypted and stored on Ivy Pay’s secure servers, and you will be charged $1. When I charge you for your next payment, I will subtract the $1 you already paid.

Just to be clear, I personally will not have access to your financial information – it will be on file and securely maintained through Ivy Pay. On your card statement it will appear as “I V Y Labs, Inc.”

Going forward, I will have Ivy Pay charge your card 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time.  You will receive a text confirmation whenever I use Ivy Pay to charge your card. This will appear in the same thread as your original invite text. (Tip: if you ever need to update your payment card details, just tap on the invite link from the original text and update your card.)

See informed consent under the Forms tab for no show or late cancellation charges. Please contact me with any questions.

How do we meet online?

FYI For SELF PAY ONLY:  Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate”. Under this new law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
